This exhibition is a part of Building Behavior, the Doors Open Denver 2017 cultural platform. The series of 6 cultural events respond to the psychological and social underpinnings of Denver’s architecture. Like architecture, which starts from basic elements: glass, sand, and stone to create a building, synthesizers start from basic sine waves modulated to produce sound into music. Conceived by DOD Arts & Culture committee member and Public Art Administrator, Rudi Cerri, Syn Sunday is a synthesizer-based open-air concert in which five local musicians will respond to the Denver Performing Art Complex’s Galleria. Each musician will take their employing synthesizers as tools to interpret (or relate to) architectural elements, such as the barrel-vaulted glass roof of the Galleria or the tension between the parking structure and the Theaters.

Doors Open Denver is an annual two-day event that provides opportunities for residents and visitors to explore our city, creating meaningful connections to the built environment. Each spring, the Denver Architectural Foundation inspires the community to connect through self-guided or expert-guided (fee-based) tours of our city’s unique spaces, including high-profile, historic, and/or artistic feats of architecture and design. Doors Open Denver tells the story of where Denver is, where it has been, and where it’s going.

Behind the Scenes -- Carbon Dioxide Ensemble at Time + Space Fundraiser for Process/Reversal

Process Reversal advocates and ensures the viability of film for all.

In a time of discontinued film stocks, disenfranchised cinemas and abandoned laboratories, filmmaking is changing. The old infrastructures have collapsed, giving us a unique opportunity; a chance to reinvent the medium. Process Reversal is an engine for exploring new ways of seeing, new ways of hearing, and new ways of speaking about film. It is the response of a vibrant community of artists and practitioners that are taking on the opportunity and the challenge of a new century for photochemical arts.

Organization

Process Reversal is a federally recognized, tax exempt 501(c)(3 charity,  a volunteer-run organization operating on a collective model of sharing duties and responsibilities.

The Carbon Dioxide Ensemble played at their fundraiser on Saturday, April 8, 2017.
